Program Director

The Program Director is responsible for overseeing the coordination and administration of all aspects of an ongoing program including planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling program activities.

Job Description

 

  • Plan the program
    • Plans the delivery of the overall program and its activities following the objectives and the goals of the organization.
    • Develops new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the organization.
    • Develops and implements long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the program.
    • Develops an annual budget and operating plan to support the program.
    • Develops a program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the program and to identify areas for improvement.
    • Develops funding proposals for the program to ensure the continuous delivery of services.
  • Organize the program
    • Ensures that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization.
    • Ensures that program activities comply with all relevant professional standards.
    • Develops forms and records to document program activities.
    • Oversees the collection and maintenance of records on the clients of the program for statistical purposes according to the confidentiality/privacy policy of the organization.
  • Staff the program
    • In consultation with the CTO, recruit, interview, and select well-qualified program team members.
    • Implements the human resources policies, procedures, and practices of the organizations
    • Implements the performance management process for all program team members.
  • Lead the program
    • Ensures all staff members receive orientation and appropriate training following organizational standards.
    • Supervises program team members by providing direction, input, and feedback.
    • Communicates with clients and other stakeholders to gain support for the program and to solicit input to improve the program.
    • Liaises with other managers to ensure effective and efficient program delivery.
    • Coordinates the delivery of services among different program activities to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Control the program
    • Prepares reports on the program for management and program sponsors.
    • Communicates with program sponsors as needed.
    • Ensures that the program operates within the approved budget.
    • Monitors and approves all budgeted program expenditures.
    • Identify and evaluates the risks associated with program activities and take appropriate action to control the risks
    • Monitors the program activities regularly and conducts an annual evaluation according to the program evaluation framework.
    • Reports evaluation findings to the CTO and recommends changes to enhance the program, as appropriate.
    • Other job-related activities that may be assigned from time to time.
Job Qualifications/Requirements
  • Education – At least graduate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or any related course. PMP Certification is preferred.
  • Related Work Experience – At least 10 + years of experience in network-related services.
    • At least 5 years of solid experience in Project Management.
    • At least 3 years of experience in Program Management.
    • At least 5 years of experience in handling Application Development projects.
