Platform Integration Architects

The Platform Integration Architect is responsible for analyzing the technical and business requirements. Specify and implement the integration design of systems and applications focusing on service-oriented design, API-First principles, and micro-services architecture. Lead and/or conduct system integration discussions. Design policies, principles, and standards on integration solutions and development.

Job Description
  • Identifies, publishes, and communicates strategic technology standards, frameworks, principles, and road maps to be used throughout the IT organization to guide technology decisions and leverage efficiency opportunities with a focus on Integration Platforms and Services. Drives design for a secure, efficient, and adaptable future state model. Ensures that new projects and migrations are in alignment with the IT capital budget, project portfolio, and IT/enterprise strategic goals. 
  • Researches and recommends opportunities to adopt new technologies. Analyzes the impact of implementing new technologies into the IT infrastructure. Proactively researches IT enterprise integration best practices and methodologies and determines relevance to the organization. 
  • Assists Solution Architects, and Solution Designers in matching integration services to specific business service and application development projects to ensure consistent use throughout the enterprise. Identifies and leverages opportunities across IT departments to ensure a consistent and efficient infrastructure framework. 
  • Maintain an efficient technical environment for all client services and document all architectural plans and provide support to all businesses and assemble all system components. 
  • Educates and guides engineers in the use cases and development of specific solutions within the Integration Platform portfolio. 
  • Develops and participates in the governance of Enterprise Integration principles and framework to assure compliance to the EA strategy and that exception are well justified and documented through a formal waiver process. Analyzes the impact of exceptions and their effect on future IT and enterprise goals. 
  • Uses business requirements to identify, evaluate and present alternative design solutions which meet customer needs.
  • Solution / Interface Functional Specification and Integrated Solution. New Integration Technologies Proposal. Integration Development Process and Development Standards. 
  • Prioritizes requirements for inclusion in the software development phase using plan-driven (traditional) and change-driven (iterative and agile) techniques 
  • Creates a use case diagram to clarify the solution scope. 
  • Other job-related activities that may be assigned from time to time.
Job Qualifications/Requirements
  • Education –    At least graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or any related course.
  • Related Work Experience: 
    • 3-5 years work experience preferably in Telco, IT, and project implementation and support.
    • 3-5 years experience in software development 
    • 3-5 years experience in Systems Integration with a focus on Service-Oriented architecture and API Design 
  • Knowledge – knowledgeable in the following:  
    • Knowledgeable in one or more programming languages 
    • RESTful / SOAP API Design 
    • Cloud Services 
    • Application Frameworks 
    • Integration Design Patterns and Systems Analysis 
    • Knowledgeable in one or more SDLC Models (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, etc.) 
    • Experience with Oracle ESB / Dell Boomi products (preferred but not required) 
  • Skills :
    • Written Communication:
    • Identifies the main information and concepts that are needed to be communicated and translate them clearly using the appropriate level of jargon and technical language based on the audience 
    • Edits and revises the document when necessary in terms of grammar and other minor errors. 
    • Business Planning and Analysis:
    • Evaluates the impact of business requirements, business roles, business planning, and business processes on projects 
    • Performs impact analysis and environmental scans and makes recommendations 
    • Determines the correct technological solution enable business processes 
    • Identifies probable causes of miscommunication and works to address these when they occur and takes preventive measures to avoid them in the future.

    • Prepares development plan as part of the business planning cycle
