Platform Engineers

The Platform Engineer is responsible for providing necessary support relating to various platforms and applications, system-level software, compilers, server connectivity, and other general computing applications. Responsible for any malfunctioning of platforms or software systems and analyzing necessary software requirements.

Job Description
  • Assists the platforms team in ensuring 24/7 operations that includes development, monitoring and maintenance of all live servers, platforms, and gateways.
  • Initiates functional testing for critical services as part of monitoring.
  • Corrects errors if any and modifying the existing software.
  • Upgrades interfaces by updating the hardware for better performance of the system.
  • Undergoes detailed study of the existing system to and recommend installation or up-gradation of a new system.
  • Ensures that service incidents should be acknowledged, resolved, or escalated according to Service Level Agreement (SLA). Perform follow-ups until a resolution has been made.
  • Acknowledges all business and customer requests and concerns and provides results on time.
  • Supports monthly backup and clean-up of logs.
  • Prepares and generates reports and statistics for live services upon request.
  • Ensures that daily reports and stats (email, web tool, SMS, etc.) are working perfectly.
  • Other job-related activities that may be assigned from time to time.
Job Qualifications/Requirements
  • Education –  At least graduate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or any related course.
  • Related Work Experience – At least 1 year of relevant experience.
    • Experience in Telco is a plus
  • Knowledge –  Knowledgeable in the following:
    • Unix/Linux shell scripting and basic PHP programming
    • Perl, Java, and C
    • Databases: MySQL / NoSQL / MongoDB
    • Linux Services: Apache / Nginx / PHP / DatabaseMust be familiar with network and system security
    • Ability to troubleshoot system and network problems in Linux/Unix
    • Monitoring tools (Nagios / Cacti)
    • Strong computer skills.
