Benefits Specialist

The Benefits Specialist is responsible for end to end benefits administration including coordination with internal and external stakeholders, resolving operational issues and driving process improvements. This position requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills and must consider employees as primary customers. Capable of designing a comprehensive benefits package to meet the standards of the changing workforce and organization.

  • Administer and manage benefits programs of the organization such as but not limited to company and government mandated benefits. 

  • Responsible for payroll related employee benefit deductions, working knowledge on benefit taxation, remittances and reporting. 

  • Validate and process employee registration to government agencies in order to administer statutory benefits (Philhealth – ER2, SSS – R1A, HDMF – MDF).

  • Monitor enrolment and/or renewals of employees and company memberships (HMO, Life Insurances, others).

  • The end-to-end process of employees SSS maternity and sickness benefits and DOLE mandated benefits.

  • Manage workflow to ensure all benefits transactions are processed accurately and timely.

  • Validate and reconcile monthly reports for statutory and corporate benefits.

  • Reconcile and audit employee authorized benefits deductions.

  • Establish good relationships with stakeholders (government and corporate) to be abreast of new policies, manage case to case exceptions and be able to provide employees and organization the best possible options. 

  • Organize regular orientation on statutory and corporate benefits to keep the employees well-informed and educated of their benefits with the company. 

  • Update employee data changes across multiple channels of benefits for employee tax status, beneficiaries and benefit coverage. 

  • Process ad hoc reporting as needed.

  • Respond to requests for reconciliation and report generation for finance and upper management as needed.

  • Support cross functional projects.


  • Education –  Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Human Resource Management, or equivalent degree of experience

  • Related Experience – At least 3 years of experience in handling benefits, working knowledge in best practices

  • Knowledge - Strong background and knowledge on Corporate (Insurances) and Statutory Benefits regulations and updates.

  • Skills - Proficient in MS Office Excel; Strong data management skills
