Application Support Specialists

The Application Support Specialist responsibilities include providing necessary technical support relating to various applications, system-level software, compilers, and other general computing applications. They are responsible for any malfunctioning of applications or software systems and analyzing necessary software requirements.

Job Description


  • Assist the Application Support team in ensuring 24/7 operations that includes monitoring and maintenance of all live services, platforms and gateways.
  • Initiate functional testing for critical services as part of monitoring.
  • Correcting errors if any and modifying the existing software
  • Upgrade interfaces by updating the hardware for better performance of the system
  • Undergo a detailed study of the existing system to and recommend installation or upgrade of a new system
  • Ensure that service incidents should be acknowledged, resolved or escalated according to Service Level Agreement (SLA). Perform follow-ups until resolution.
  • Acknowledge all business and customer’s requests and concerns and provide results in a timely manner.
  • Support monthly back up and clean-up of logs.
  • Prepare and generate reports and statistics for live services upon request.
  • Ensure that daily reports and stats (email, web tool, SMS, etc.) are working perfectly.
  • Perform any other work-related tasks assigned
Job Qualifications/Requirements
  • Education – College graduate in Information Technology preferred or an equivalent of education plus experience / Computer Engineering / Computer Programming with specific application / Computer Software Engineering / Computer Software Technology
  • Related Work Experience – Experience in Telco industry is a plus
  • Knowledge:
    • Knowledgeable in Unix/Linux shell scripting and basic PHP programming
    • Databases: MySQL/Postgres/Mongo queries
    • Linux Services: Apache / Nginx / PHP / Perl / Database
    • Must be familiar with network and system security
    • Must be knowledgeable in Monitoring tools (Nagios / Cacti)
    • Ability to troubleshoot system and network problems in Linux/Unix Soft
  • Skills:
    • Strong computer skills
    • Able to work cooperatively with key team members, clients and vendors.
    • Must be adept to work in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines
